Here is my Note We're Working on graphic organizer. See my blog post 10/22/12 to get the details of how I plan on using it.

I learned about Solfa texing sticks at a workshop at CMEA by Amanda Silvestri. The Kodaly Chapter, ROCKE, had a make and take session where you could make these, but I decided to make my own.
I printed the solfa ladders onto a full label sheet. I bought the full sheet labels from Office Depot. I cut out each solfa ladder and peeled the backing off and stuck it to a jumbo size craft stick. I painted each stick with a coating of Modge Podge to help keep them from getting smeared or dirty. I bought the Modge Podge from Michaels. I made 3 different sets: drmsl, low s low la drmsl, and one that included high do. Here is the file that includes all 3 sets. Each page has 15 solfa ladder. How to use them: Sing short melodic patterns that include the solfa pitches you are working on. As the students echo the melody they touch the correct dot on their stick (like texting). |
I have created two more sets of the solfa ladders for Solfa Texting: m-s-l and d-m-s-l. Enjoy!
